Service dogs are an essential but often overlooked asset to people’s lives throughout the world. While their purpose is to go unseen in order to help their owner, some believe they deserve more recognition than they get.

Linganore logo debate: Appropriate or appropriated?

The phrase “new year, new me” is a popular sentiment when it comes to New Year’s resolutions, but what about new school years? As part of the new school year at Linganore High School (LHS), a new school logo was launched. Traditionally, the mascot of the school is the Lancer– a Native American figure.

Egg Nog Jog brings community together to raise awareness for leukemia

On the morning of December 17, the Linganore High School (LHS) SGA hosted the 11th annual Egg Nog Jog.

The jog was created in honor of Quentin Ingram, a young child from the Linganore community who passed away from leukemia.

Linganore HVAC system burns out as relentless heat continues

On Thursday, September 7, the Linganore High School (LHS) administration made the executive decision to dismiss students early due to extreme heat in the building.

In the early morning of September 7, the control board on the HVAC system burnt out, causing the air conditioning system to stop working. The administration received a notification that the system had gone down.

Paralympian Hannah McFadden climbs her way to the top

In this podcast, Hannah McFadden will speak about her career, the importance of fun in sports, her future, and the best part about being an athlete.

McFadden’s life has figuratively (and literally) been a climb. McFadden is an above-the-knee amputee due to a congenital disorder. Originally adopted from Durrës, Albania, she now lives in Clarksville, Maryland. McFadden has been an athlete for as long as she can remember.

2025: The day the music dies?

On fall Friday nights, a flood of musicians in black and red with plumed shakos (hats) bustle around the performing arts wing in preparation for a football game. Later, the band marches in rhythm to the stadium, crowd cheering in anticipation. Stand tunes further intensify the spirit in the student section.
